Zaporizhzhia Plant hit by shelling
The management of Ukraine's Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant stated that Ukrainian shelling in recent weeks has caused damage to the external power supply equipment. Currently, the plant relies on emergency sources to provide electricity. Although the plant does not generate electricity itself, it requires external power to cool the nuclear fuel and prevent accidents. The management clarified that the situation is under control and being monitored, despite ongoing exchanges of accusations between Moscow and Kyiv regarding military operations that threaten nuclear safety.
