Abu Dhabi First Bank has issued the first fully digital green bonds in the Middle East and North Africa region, valued at one billion dirhams, with a three-year tenure and an interest rate of 5.75%. The proceeds from this issuance will be used to support projects with environmental benefits and to address climate challenges. This issuance represents a step toward integrating sustainable financing with the digital infrastructure of capital markets and enhances the bank's record in issuing digital bonds, making it the second digital issuance listed on the Abu Dhabi Securities Market. Through this initiative, the bank aims to support the transition toward a low-carbon economy, reaffirming its long-term commitment to sustainable finance, which, by mid-2026, amounted to approximately 395 billion dirhams—79% of its 2030 target.
