Over 137,800 regulatory violators detained

The joint field campaigns to combat violations of residence, work, and border security in the Kingdom during the period from April 27 to May 3, 2026, resulted in the detention of 13,822 violators, including 6,547 for residence violations, 3,896 for border security violations, and 3,379 for work violations. Additionally, 2,021 individuals attempting to illegally cross the borders were apprehended, along with 28 persons trying to sneak out of the Kingdom. Currently, 34,834 violators are in custody, with 20,190 of them referred to their respective embassies to obtain travel documents, 6,509 to complete their reservations, and 9,454 others to be deported. The ministry emphasized that anyone who facilitates the entry of violators or provides them with shelter could face penalties of up to 15 years in prison, a fine of up to one million Riyals, confiscation of the tools used, and threats of publicizing their identities. The ministry also encourages reporting violators through emergency contact numbers.
