Today, Qatar deserves to issue government bonds and sukuk worth a total of 1.20 billion riyals, as a bond worth 300 million riyals and sukuk worth 900 million riyals, both issued in 2016 for ten years at a yield of 3.75%, have matured. The current balance of bonds amounts to 55.88 billion riyals, and that of sukuk around 74.52 billion riyals. The country uses these instruments to finance the fiscal deficit.
