Staff worry BBC may close Three and Scotland channels

The BBC is implementing a redundancy process amid plans to cut costs by £500 million and potentially reduce up to 2,000 jobs, raising concerns about the future of BBC Three and BBC Scotland channels. There is widespread speculation that both channels may shift to online-only formats, as their high costs and low viewership render them unsustainable as traditional broadcast services. BBC Three, which has struggled to attract audiences since returning to linear TV, and BBC Scotland, which has limited live viewers, are possible candidates for closure or significant transformation, with officials emphasizing a focus on value for money as audiences increasingly prefer on-demand content.
