Camden council alerted on paedophile nursery worker years prior

A nursery worker who was convicted of multiple sexual offenses against children was cleared of concerns during an investigation overseen by Camden council three years prior to his arrest. Vincent Chan, jailed for 18 years after pleading guilty to 56 counts including assault and possession of child abuse images, was under investigation following allegations from a parent about his conduct. Despite being cleared to return to work afterward, Chan later filmed himself abusing young girls, leading to his arrest and conviction. The case has raised questions about safeguarding protocols and the effectiveness of existing oversight, with authorities planning a review into how Chan was able to commit these offenses.
