Impacto y reclamos de la ley de nietos

The Spanish Supreme Court has suspended the voting rights of many individuals who obtained Spanish nationality through the Law of Democratic Memory, known as the "law of grandchildren." The suspension affects those inscribed in the Electoral Census of Absentees (CERA) after acquiring nationality via the law, but does not impact their citizenship, passport, or civil rights. The measure is temporary, pending further court decision, and aims to ensure electoral transparency amid concerns about the CERA's growth. Affected individuals can challenge the decision within five days, though short deadlines and administrative delays pose challenges.
