Pentagon Says 80% of Missiles Depleted

CNN, citing sources, reported that American forces have used up about 80% of their interceptor missile stockpiles, particularly the THAAD systems and half of the Patriot stockpile during the conflict with Iran. This has led to warnings that these reserves are now at dangerously low levels. The U.S. military launched between 1,500 and 1,600 Patriot missiles and 200 THAAD missiles between February and July of the past year. As a result, stockpiles have decreased to approximately 760-830 Patriot missiles and 234-278 THAAD missiles. The U.S. Department of Defense strongly denied the report, assuring that sufficient missile defense systems are available, though experts acknowledge that rebuilding these stocks could take from one to three years.
