Oil partners with JGC for gas and fuel production

The Iraqi Ministry of Oil has signed an agreement with Japanese company JGC to restart the Fluid Catalytic Cracking (FCC) project at the Fayhaa oil field, aimed at boosting the production of gasoline, liquefied petroleum gas, and fuel oil. The agreement includes resuming work on the project starting from August 10, 2026, with the company beginning to transfer its staff to the site and restoring operational activities. The goal is to increase production capacity to 5 million liters of gasoline daily, 7 million liters of fuel oil, and 400 tons of liquefied gases (LPG) per day. The project aims to improve fuel production and support the local market, and it is expected to contribute to better availability of petroleum products and enhance the Iraqi oil sector’s production capacity.
