Iraq allocates 16 billion dinars for border crossings

The Iraqi Border Ports Authority has confirmed the allocation of 16 billion dinars to develop three border crossings: Rabiya, Al-Waleed, and Sfawan, in order to strengthen infrastructure and facilitate trade exchange with Syria, especially after increased cross-border movement following the closure of the Strait of Hormuz. This includes continued export of construction materials and sulfur to Syria, as well as exporting oil via approximately 1,500 trucks daily, with trade activity returning to its highest levels. Additionally, the commercial activity contributes to improving transportation flow and providing employment opportunities for around 3,000 drivers and their families, thereby boosting the Iraqi economy and strengthening relations with neighbors.
