Integrity unveils plans to target top fugitives abroad

The Federal Integrity Commission in Iraq announced the conclusion of the sixth session of the Conference of the States Parties to the Arab Convention against Corruption, held in Doha with the participation of 15 countries. During the event, decisive measures were agreed upon to end safe havens for illicitly obtained funds. The statement clarified that Iraq, chaired by the head of the Integrity Commission, Dr. Mohammed Ali Alami, reviewed its efforts in recovering stolen funds and assets, as well as its experience in developing codes of conduct to promote integrity. The decisions also included accelerating the response to legal assistance requests between countries and identifying the true beneficiaries of legal entities, with the aim of protecting economies and supporting the independence of national oversight institutions.
