Shatra Municipality Officials Detained Over Funds Theft

The Integrity Commission in Iraq arrested the head and members of the Tax Collection Committee at the Shatrah Municipality in Dhi Qar, on charges of embezzlement of state-owned funds. Following investigations, an agreement was uncovered between them and other defendants to divide the daily revenues from the livestock auction that expired in 2024. They were charged in accordance with Article 316 of the Penal Code, and they were detained by the investigating judge.
