2200 ISIS family members remain in Syrian Kurdish camp

The report highlights the continued presence of approximately 2,200 individuals from the families of "ISIS" fighters in the Roj camp in northeast Syria, which is run by Kurdish security forces, despite the implementation of institutional merger agreements with the Syrian government. The camp hosts families from more than 50 countries, most notably Russia, France, Germany, Tunisia, and Morocco, and faces challenges in the administrative transition, which is expected to take time due to legal and political complexities. This comes as part of Syria's plan to integrate camp management, with these individuals remaining despite orders to merge institutions with Damascus, which require time because of the sensitive political and security issues involved.
