Foreign Ministry Challenges Kirkuk Governor

Kirkuk Governor Mohammed Suman Agha is heading to leave his position to take on the role of Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, opening the door for competition over the governance of the province. The Turkmen Front emphasizes that the governorship is part of their share according to the political agreement and insists on not appointing an acting person. It is expected that the Parliament will vote on the candidates for the governor's position, with several names proposed. The position is considered a national entitlement for the Turkmen, according to the "Rashid Hotel" agreement, which stipulates that it will transfer to the Arab component at the beginning of 2027.
