Vatican: Pope Leo XIV recovers after lung surgery

A report indicates that Pope Leo XIV is recovering well after undergoing approximately a 90-minute surgery to remove part of his right lung due to lung cancer. He has started walking around his room and eating normally, and the results of his post-operative tests are within normal limits. He is expected to stay in the hospital for about a week, with continued respiratory physical therapy. The size and extent of the tumor have not been disclosed. His public engagements have been canceled until October 20th, with possible adjustments to upcoming travel schedules based on his recovery pace. This comes at a time when the Pope has received support from leaders of countries and religious officials, with prayers offered for his recovery.
