Zidan Calls for Constitution Reform on Referendum Anniversary
The head of Iraq's Supreme Judicial Council, Faiq Zaidan, called on the parliament to review the constitution and make the necessary amendments after more than two decades since its ratification. This is to address issues that have arisen in implementation and interpretation, particularly concerning the parliamentary majority, the election of the President of the Republic, and the identification of the largest parliamentary bloc. The goal is to update legislation, strengthen the rule of law, and safeguard societal rights and individual freedoms.
