Integrity Commission Finds 13.2B Dinars in Ceylon Karbala Fraud
The Federal Integrity Commission revealed the dismantling of a corruption and bribery network at the Karbala Silos, which resulted in the embezzlement of more than 13 billion dinars of public funds. The investigations showed that the silo officials forged marketing documents and inflated the quantities of wheat delivered—up to twenty times—to maintain unauthorized personal gains, and repeatedly marketed the same amount multiple times. The silo manager and 16 other employees have been detained, with judicial orders issued against them. The amount of counterfeit wheat involved reached 17,782 tons, and the stolen funds exceeded 13 billion dinars. Investigations are still ongoing to take appropriate legal action against those involved.
