Masrour Barzani Opposes Finance Minister's Resignation

The Prime Minister of the Kurdistan Regional Government, Masrour Barzani, rejected the resignation of Finance and Economy Minister Aghaat Sheikh Junab and insisted on his continued stay in the position, despite the minister's insistence on leaving the government and refusing to return to official duties. Meetings between the two sides reaffirmed the government's adherence to keeping the minister, while Sheikh Junab insisted on obtaining approval for his resignation from the Council of Ministers and activating procedures to terminate his duties. These developments come three weeks after the minister's official resignation and a period during which he has not fulfilled his responsibilities, amid ongoing disagreements over his remaining in the post.
