Najaf and Dhi Qar students protest hijab ban

Students and schools in Najaf Governorate and the scientific departments at Dhi Qar University organized protests rejecting the ban on wearing the hijab in Azerbaijan. They considered this a violation of women's rights and personal freedoms guaranteed by Islamic and international constitutions. Statements emphasized that the hijab is a legitimate obligation for Muslim women, and women and academics saw it as a symbol of women's dignity and adherence to Islamic teachings. They stressed that any attack on it is an attack on religion and personal rights. The speakers also pointed out that such measures infringe on women's freedom and constitute a violation of legitimate and religious rights, expressing solidarity with women in Azerbaijan who are facing restrictions on their freedom and a ban on wearing the hijab.
