Israel may delay Lebanon withdrawal

The article reveals Lebanese concerns over the potential failure to implement the Israeli withdrawal agreement from the southern border areas, despite Israel's commitment to withdraw from the promised experimental zones. The delay in executing this step is attributed to an unjustified Israeli postponement. The worry is that Israel might resume its procrastination and complicate the first phase of withdrawal, amid escalating on-the-ground statements such as specifying its positions and denying any intention to withdraw from the Palestinian south, as well as military measures that confirm an intention to occupy the area for the coming years. Lebanon hopes that the United States, the mediator of the agreement, will pressure Israel to carry out what has been agreed upon, especially as Lebanese officials await details of a potential meeting with the American president at the White House.
