Fresh prospects for bladder cancer

A new immunotherapy has successfully achieved a significant breakthrough in the treatment of high-risk bladder cancer. This therapy was tested on 115 patients in a advanced clinical trial published in The Lancet Oncology. The results showed that 81% of patients did not require bladder removal after two years, with 75% of them maintaining a complete response without any signs of cancer. Moreover, this response persisted for more than two years in about 60% of the patients. This treatment helps avoid traditional surgery, thereby enhancing patients' quality of life and focusing on preserving the bladder alongside cancer treatment.
