A rare piece of amber has been discovered, distinguished by an unusual shape that resembles a water droplet. It features a smooth, spherical surface on one side and a flat surface on the other, marking the first discovery of this size and form. Its measurements are 8 by 8 centimeters, and it weighs approximately 84 grams—a very rare size, occurring only once every few years, since the average diameter of amber droplets is usually around 2.5 centimeters. The piece dates back approximately 40 million years and was found during manual sorting of amber. Experts believe it acquired its shape before that period when resins from a pine tree fell onto a hard surface, causing one side to flatten.
