Economy Ministry partners with Consumer Association on citizen complaints

The Lebanese Ministry of Economy and Trade held a meeting chaired by Minister Amir Bessaat to follow up on the implementation of the new Consumer Protection Law. The aim was to strengthen consumer protection and encourage them to submit complaints. It was agreed to activate a joint mechanism for receiving complaints through the hotline of the Consumer Association (01750650), and to forward them to the ministry for prompt and effective action. This initiative runs parallel to the ministry’s ongoing communication with citizens via its electronic platform (MoET Digital Services), with the goal of expanding communication channels and improving responsiveness, especially given the increased fines on violators to enhance oversight and serve the public interest amid challenging economic conditions.
