Washington to move military systems from Turkey to Ukraine

The United States plans to transfer weapon systems from Turkey to Ukraine as part of a strategy to enhance its defensive capabilities amid ongoing fighting with Russia. The deal includes the transfer of 12 M270 Multiple Launch Rocket Systems (MLRS) and 2,524 M26 guided missiles with dual-use cluster munitions, as well as 47,000 203mm M509A1 shells. The agreement also involves the transfer of 70 "Atakum" and M39 missiles through private Turkish companies and others from Western entities, aiming to support Ukraine in confronting Russia. Moscow, however, considers these arms supplies a threat to peace efforts and an escalation of the conflict.
