Germany: Nurse Faces 121 New Charges
The German judiciary is currently investigating more than a hundred new cases against a nurse already sentenced to life imprisonment, after being convicted of killing ten patients and attempting to murder 27 others at a hospital in Fuersten near Aachen. Investigations indicate that the nurse, who was 44 years old at the time of the verdict, also worked at a clinic in Cologne, with some incidents dating back to 2010. He had been convicted of administering overdoses of sedatives to harm his elderly patients in order to reduce workload during night shifts, aiming to immobilize them and decrease his work time. It appears that the investigation also covers incidents dating back to September 2022, when the remains of around 40 people were exhumed. A new indictment is also slated to be filed next year.
