Lebanese security forces managed to foil an attempt to smuggle cocaine in the Sraeneen area of Bekaa. According to information, the individual known as M. Q., a Lebanese born in 1961, purchased approximately 15 grams of cocaine inside a plastic container, along with 20 grams hidden in nylon bags, with the aim of transporting and distributing it outside the area. After prolonged surveillance, the police stopped him while he was driving a Nissan car and seized a bag from the vehicle’s windows as he attempted to escape, where the confiscated items were found. The suspect admitted to being active in drug transportation for about two months, doing so twice a week. He was handed over, along with the confiscated drugs, to the judiciary for necessary legal procedures. Efforts to combat drug smuggling in Lebanon continue in accordance with the directives of the competent authorities.
