UNESCO DG visits Beirut on Culture Minister invite

Lebanese Minister of Culture Ghassan Salameh welcomed UNESCO Director-General Dr. Khaled Anani and his accompanying delegation in his office at the National Library in Beirut, at the invitation of the minister. The meeting included discussions on joint cultural projects, such as revitalizing the network of public libraries, projects for the development of heritage sites in Lebanon, and updating storage facilities for antiquities. Both parties also agreed to sign a cooperation agreement covering the fields of education, culture, media, and communication during official visits arranged by the meeting. This initiative aims to support Lebanon in preserving its cultural heritage and developing its cultural and historical sectors with funding and support from UNESCO.
