Cypriot embassy issues Lebanese passport alert

Starting September 1, 2026, the Cypriot embassy in Lebanon will only accept Lebanese biometric passports for visa applications to travel to Cyprus. Holders of long-term visas issued on non-biometric passports may continue to use them when traveling, provided they present the canceled non-biometric passport along with the visa and the new valid biometric passport. This measure follows the announcement by the Lebanese General Directorate of General Security of the cancellation of non-biometric passports.
