Al-Aghlal follows August storm

The Lebanese Ministry of Public Works and Transport immediately responded to the heavy rainstorm that hit the country on the evening of August 29. Ministry teams were deployed to monitor drainage networks in the areas most vulnerable to water pooling. Although a limited accumulation of water was recorded on the Batroun–Mdeiboun highway due to a large volume of rain falling over a short period, the waters receded within minutes, and traffic returned to normal. No water accumulations were recorded in the areas that experienced the highest rainfall rates. The ministry considers this storm an early test of its teams’ readiness and the drainage systems in preparation for the rainy season. It continues to review data and conduct maintenance to enhance road safety and reduce the risks of water pooling.
