The Electricity Regulatory Authority has extended the clause concerning potential power generation projects in Lebanon until September 30, 2026. This includes solar energy projects with a capacity of up to 350 MW paired with battery storage systems of up to 1,000 MWh, as well as thermal projects relying on natural gas with capacities ranging from 20 to 100 MW. The use of heavy fuel oil as a backup is also permitted. The aim is to attract investors and stimulate the development of the country’s electricity sector.
