Hospital Union warns of worsening conditions

Hospitals in Lebanon are facing serious conditions that threaten patient safety and the continuity of services, due to the worsening economic situation and the failure of medical reimbursements to cover actual costs, coupled with shrinking dues and rising expenses. The Hospital Syndicate Council has called on the official guarantor authorities to promptly settle the overdue payments and increase the reimbursement rates to reflect current circumstances. They also demand the recovery of Value Added Tax amounts paid since 2021. If there is no response by the end of September, hospitals will cease accepting non-emergency cases, and patients will be responsible for covering the difference.
