Father Paul Naaman passes away

Father Paul Naaman, the former Superior General of the Maronite Monastic Order, has passed away. He was one of Lebanon's most prominent historical and intellectual figures. Born in 1932 in Chourtoun. He earned a doctorate in history from the Gregorian University in Rome in 1966. He worked in education and in managing monastic schools, and held leadership positions at the Lebanese University. He authored numerous works documenting the history of the Maronites and key moments in modern Lebanese history, most notably the book "Lebanon of the Maronites: Where to?"
