Basel Feleihan Institute Launches Strategic Procurement Certification

The Basil Feleihan Financial and Economic Institute has launched the third edition of the International Certification in Strategic Public Procurement in collaboration with the University of Rome Tor Vergata. The initiative aims to enhance the capabilities of public sector employees in implementing procurement laws and keeping up with national reforms. The program focuses on reducing the time required for contract awarding, which can be decreased by about 7%, while also increasing knowledge of the new European legislation. The course involves 36 participants from various public institutions, municipalities, and security forces over five weeks. This initiative is part of Italy’s ongoing efforts to support capacity development in Lebanon since 2010, providing mandatory and specialized training for over 4,500 government employees and promoting the participation of small and medium-sized enterprises in procurement processes.
