EU allocates 3.3B euros for Ukraine arms

The President of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, confirmed that the European Union will allocate 3.3 billion euros tomorrow to Ukraine to fund the purchase of missile systems and drones, following a phone call with President Volodymyr Zelensky. Part of this funding will be allocated for the purchase of Patriot air defense systems as part of a support loan. The Commission had previously announced the allocation of 6.1 billion euros for acquiring defensive equipment for Ukraine. Since the beginning of the year, the European Union has mobilized approximately 15 billion euros in aid to Ukraine and plans to invest the remaining funds from the "SAFE" program into joint defense initiatives.
