Yemeni Parliament Approves Mobilization to Face Houthis

The Yemeni House of Representatives approved today a declaration of general mobilization to confront the escalation by the Houthis, based on the request of the Chairman of the Presidential Leadership Council, Rashad Al-Alimi. This decision is made in accordance with Article (37) of the Constitution, which permits the declaration of general mobilization, as well as the provisions of the National Defense Council Law, and the laws governing general reserve and civil defense. The aim of the decision is to organize mobilization in accordance with the Constitution, power transfer decisions, and relevant laws. It will take effect from the date of its announcement and will remain in force until the reasons for it cease to exist.
