Economy Ministry: 17,680 Inspections This Year

The Consumer Protection Directorate at the Lebanese Ministry of Economy and Trade has conducted 17,680 field inspections from the beginning of the year until September 25. These inspections included monitoring food safety, fuel stations, and identifying violations, resulting in the issuance of 887 violation reports against offenders. Additionally, 1,735 consumer complaints were received through the electronic application, and nine of these complaints were addressed within one week, alongside the execution of 457 field inspections. The ministry urges citizens to contribute to uncovering violations via the application and hotlines, in order to enhance oversight and protect consumer rights.
