The Change Movement Reshapes Opposition

The article focused on the efforts of the Free Patriotic Movement to redefine the role of the opposition in Lebanon through the launch of the "Government Observatory." This initiative aims to shift from reactive opposition to a structured watchdog that relies on presenting data, facts, and alternatives, utilizing constitutional tools such as questioning, interrogations, and judicial reviews. The movement seeks to develop a comprehensive record of government performance by monitoring economic, political, foreign, and administrative files, and documenting observations digitally and journalistically. It also involves experts and professionals to enhance effectiveness. The goal of this approach is to transform opposition from a contingent political stance into a sustainable democratic practice that enables responsible and productive confrontation with the government.
