Rote: No Immediate Russia Threat to NATO

NATO Secretary General, Jens Stoltenberg, stated that there is no imminent threat to NATO territory from Russia, despite Moscow's warnings regarding the Kaliningrad region and its readiness to use nuclear weapons if the alliance attempts to isolate the area in the Baltic Sea. He clarified that Russia's threat assessment has not changed and that the alliance has responded calmly to these threats, emphasizing that NATO's response is defensive and includes measures to counter nuclear threats. He praised the traditional and nuclear defense commitments that the United States and European countries will continue to support, along with ongoing support for Ukraine and investments in its defense, despite Putin's unwillingness to negotiate an end to the war in Ukraine.
