Hasarait Students Moved to Jbeil Education Clarifies

The Ministry of Education and Higher Education in Lebanon has decided not to transfer all secondary education grades from Haret Saray Secondary School to Jbeil Secondary School. This decision is made to ensure the continuity of education in the town and to reduce operational costs. All third-year secondary students will be transferred to Jbeil Secondary School because they do not meet the legal requirements for opening classes. Meanwhile, first and second-year students will remain at the middle school building to meet the legal student count requirements. This decision follows a review of the school’s legal and administrative status and aims to improve resource management and reduce costs, which previously exceeded $8,000 per student annually. Supported transportation will be provided for the third-year students. The ministry also seeks to enhance the role of parents and local stakeholders in supporting the high school and attracting more students in the upcoming academic year. Additionally, steps are underway to regularize the school’s legal status and reopen all its classes once the necessary conditions are met.
