Deawayla weapon sparks sectarian tensions

The article highlights the escalating divergence and conflict between Hezbollah and the Amal Movement in certain southern and Beqaa regions of Lebanon. Hostilities on the ground and armed clashes are intensifying due to the practices of the party, which aim to control villages and residential areas and stockpile weapons. This deepens the rift within the Shia community and paves the way for an imminent internal explosion. The party also faces criticism from residents who oppose turning their villages into targets of military conflicts and demand the state's authority over illegal weapons. Public awareness is growing that their resistance efforts against Israel are futile at the expense of the safety of the community members. Amid the escalating crisis, sources emphasize the need for the Lebanese state to intervene to curb rising tensions, reassert its sovereignty, and prevent the country from sliding into an internal catastrophe.
