IMF deal progress assessed

The article discusses the progress of the agreement between Lebanon and the International Monetary Fund (IMF), confirming that negotiations remain on the right track, with a team from the Fund preparing to visit Lebanon in November to help draft the agreement. Simultaneously, work continues on completing the Financial Gap Law. It also notes that the Lebanese side emphasized during SaLLam’s visit to Washington the need to establish a force under the umbrella of the United Nations to maintain Lebanon’s security, and current American understandings appear to support this proposal. The article also covers security and political developments in Lebanon, including military attacks and arrests, but primarily focuses on the progress of the economic and financial negotiations with the IMF.
