Europe plans to address diesel shortage with France's proposal of 100 million barrels

Tensions are escalating between Europe and the United States over the global fuel crisis, particularly the diesel shortage. The European Union rejected American threats to ban diesel exports, warning that such a move would undermine confidence in Washington as a reliable supplier. In an effort to calm the market, France proposed releasing 100 million barrels of diesel and crude oil in coordination with the International Energy Agency, aiming to reduce the rising fuel prices caused by shrinking refining capacities and the impacts of the wars in Iran and Ukraine. Europe continues to discuss options for releasing strategic reserves, with efforts from France and Germany to stabilize the markets amid concerns that depletion of reserves or unilateral measures could lead to greater disruptions.
