FAO Delegation Reviews Nabatieh Agriculture Damage

A high-level delegation from the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) was sent to the Nabatieh Governorate to assess the damages inflicted on the agricultural sector by the war. They discussed ways to recover and rebuild. They visited the Nabatieh Agriculture Department, where they listened to an explanation about the destruction of the department's building and the impact of the war on agricultural centers and the services provided to farmers. They also inspected a women's cooperative project in Zbeidine and were affected by the extent of the destruction. Additionally, they surveyed the damaged agricultural lands in Froun, including greenhouses and olive trees affected by the shelling, and listened to farmers share their challenges. The visit provides a clear on-the-ground picture of the damages to the sector and calls for support to recovery efforts and the rehabilitation of the agricultural sector in the affected areas.
