Oil tanker explosion after tracking off

An oil tanker was targeted in the Strait of Hormuz, where Iranian television reported an explosion onboard the vessel, which had disabled its tracking system upon entering the strait. The identity of the tanker, the extent of the damage, and the condition of its crew remain unknown. No independent sources or international authorities have confirmed the incident so far. This event occurs amid a rise in maritime incidents in the region, including attacks on other ships involving unidentified projectiles and strikes, with automatic identification systems being disabled to conceal their locations. These incidents come against the backdrop of escalating tensions in the strait, which could potentially impact global energy supplies.
