Trump unveils Superintelligence Force

U.S. President Donald Trump announced the formation of the "Superintelligence Force" with the aim of coordinating federal government efforts to ensure American leadership in artificial intelligence and to protect American interests. This force will monitor and guide the government's interactions with technology companies, consumers, and interest groups, with the goal of establishing standards and regulations for this technology, whose impact could surpass the Industrial Revolution or the emergence of the internet. The force will be led by a group of officials, with its reports going directly to the President and the White House Chief of Staff, striving to implement strict internal controls amid increasing pressures to regulate the sector amidst concerns about the profound societal changes that AI could bring.
