Lebanese University Presidency Decision
The debate intensifies over the appointment of a new president for the Lebanese University as the current president, Bassam Badran, approaches the end of his term on October 13, with no official position yet from the Ministry of Education or the relevant authorities. Thirteen candidates are competing for the position, and a legal issue has arisen regarding the mechanism for selecting the five names that will be submitted to the Council of Ministers. There are hopes that politicians will agree on a solution that ensures compliance with the legal framework, despite potential political understandings. The issue remains shrouded in uncertainty about whether the matter will be resolved in the upcoming session or if it will result in an vacancy in the presidency.
