Daryan urges unity to prevent Tripoli becoming a battleground

The Grand Mufti of the Lebanese Republic, Sheikh Abd El-Latif Daryan, sent a message from the Dar Al-Fatwa in Tripoli to the city's influential figures, calling for unified vision and concerted efforts to confront the crises facing the city, particularly the waste management issue. He emphasized that Tripoli holds a significant national and Islamic status, and that its residents exemplify moderation and middle ground. It is unacceptable for the city to become a haven for waste. He stressed the need for all stakeholders—including deputies and municipalities—to work together to address the crises, and called on the government to exert greater efforts to improve conditions in the city and the North in general. Additionally, Daryan affirmed that Dar Al-Fatwa operates within an overall approach aimed at preserving the dignity and honor of the Lebanese people, praising the role played by religious leaders and community figures in facing these challenges.
