Ford Dearline: Methane suppliers get extra year for EU rules

European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen announced that methane producers in the European Union will be granted an additional year to prepare for the implementation of the new Methane Regulation, amid mounting pressures due to rising energy costs. She also confirmed that the EU will launch a strategic dialogue aimed at reducing the costs of European refineries and will propose measures to increase the share of electricity in overall energy demand in the coming months.
