Minister of Energy and Water Naufal Saadeh resigned from the government due to the Council of Ministers' failure to adopt his proposals to address the electricity crisis and secure funding to purchase fuel oil at high prices. Officials confirmed that the resignation could disrupt the work of the ministry if the issue is not resolved, and that ongoing contacts are taking place between the President and the Prime Minister to follow up on the problem, with the possibility that the matter may lead to resignation or continuation of work as usual. However, the resignation highlights the complexities in managing the Lebanese electricity crisis and the lack of an immediate solution.
