Iran's death sentence case of Naghmeh Amini

Nasim Amiri, a 23-year-old Iranian woman, has been sentenced to death by a court in Khorasan Razavi Province for charges of "insulting the Prophet and insulting the infallible Imams online." Although the sentence has been issued, it has not yet become final, as the Iranian Supreme Court has not expressed its opinion on the case, and the final outcome depends on its decision. Amiri was detained last January on accusations of disrespecting religious sanctities and engaging in activities against national security, based on her posts on social media.
